
Medical Librarian
The Medical Librarian at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is an integral member of the hospital's medical library team. This position requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with an aptitude for research and information management. The Medical Librarian is responsible for providing research and library services to hospital staff, physicians, and students.To be considered for this position, applicants must possess a Master’s degree in Library Science, as well as at least 1-2 years of experience in a library setting. Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain library collections and services that promote the mission and goals of CHOP.
- Perform reference and research services for hospital staff, physicians, and students.
- Assist in the development and provision of library-based educational programs.
- Utilize library databases, catalogs, and other online resources to locate and provide necessary information.
- Utilize library automation systems to manage library collections and services.
- Provide assistance in the selection, acquisition, and evaluation of library materials.
- Develop and maintain library policies and procedures.
- Provide customer service support to patrons as needed.
- Collaborate with other library staff to ensure a high-quality customer experience.
- Maintain library records and statistics.
