Job Description

At the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), we are passionate about providing excellent, comprehensive care to our patients and their families. We are searching for an experienced Medical Translator - Spanish who can join our team and help us better communicate with our Spanish-speaking patients and their families. The successful candidate will need to be highly organized and have an excellent command of both Spanish and English. Responsibilities:

  1. Provide accurate translation of medical documents, conversations, and other written or spoken material from Spanish to English and vice versa.
  2. Support the medical staff in patient care by translating medical terminology, instructions, and other relevant information.
  3. Assist with patient intake and registration processes, including verifying patient information and completing paperwork.
  4. Facilitate communication between healthcare providers and patients/families, ensuring that all parties understand and are comfortable with the process and information being discussed.
  5. Provide support to patients and families in developing a plan of care and understanding their medical treatments and procedures.
  6. Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  7. Participate in professional development activities to stay abreast of changes in medical terminology and healthcare regulations.
  8. Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications
