Job Description

We’re looking for an energetic and mission-driven Nursing Professional Development Specialist to join the team at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families by supporting nurses in their professional growth and development. You’ll coordinate and facilitate the ongoing development of CHOP’s nursing staff, ensuring that they have the necessary skills, knowledge and understanding to provide quality care to the patients and families we serve.To be successful in this role, you must have a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related field, as well as 3–5 years of nursing experience. You must also possess excellent communication and organizational skills, the ability to work independently and in teams, and a passion for delivering quality care to children and families. Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate and facilitate the ongoing professional development of CHOP’s nursing staff.
  2. Provide resources and support to nurses in their professional growth and development.
  3. Ensure nurses possess the necessary skills, knowledge, and understanding to provide quality care.
  4. Establish and maintain relationships with nursing and physician staff.
  5. Work independently and in teams to ensure the delivery of quality care.
  6. Monitor nursing performance and provide feedback.
  7. Develop and implement educational programs for nursing staff.
  8. Participate in nursing committees and other organizational activities.
  9. Maintain accurate records of activities and progress.
  10. Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations related to nursing.

Job Qualifications
