Our ideal candidate is a dedicated parent or caregiver who has personal experience caring for a child with a chronic or complex medical condition.   1. Provide peer support and guidance to families facing medical challenges.
  2. Help families better understand and navigate the complex healthcare system.
  3. Advocate for the needs of children with chronic or complex medical conditions.
  4. Utilize personal experience as a parent or caregiver to connect with and support families.
  5. Serve as a role model and source of hope for families going through similar experiences.
  6. Educate families on available resources and support services at the hospital.
  7. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure families receive comprehensive care.
  8. Assist families in making informed decisions about their child's medical care.
  9. Empower families to be active participants in their child's healthcare journey.
  10. Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of families.
  11. Continually develop knowledge and skills through training and education opportunities.
  12. Act as a liaison between families and the hospital, addressing any concerns or issues.
  13. Foster a positive and supportive environment for families and staff.
  14. Participate in outreach and community events to raise awareness and promote the program.
  15. Contribute to program development and improvement by providing feedback and suggestions.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Or A Related Field, With A Strong Understanding Of Child Development And Family Dynamics.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Parent Advocate, Preferably In A Pediatric Healthcare Setting.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Engage And Support Families From Diverse Backgrounds.

  • Knowledge Of Community Resources And Systems To Help Families Navigate The Healthcare System And Access Necessary Services.

  • Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team, Including Medical Professionals, Social Workers, And Other Support Staff, To Provide Comprehensive Care For Families.
