Job Description

The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia is looking for a Phlebotomist to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals. We are searching for a positive, organized individual with an excellent work ethic and commitment to providing quality patient care. The ideal candidate for this position should have a high school diploma or equivalent, experience in a patient care setting, and a valid certification as a Phlebotomist. The Phlebotomist will be responsible for performing venipunctures and collecting specimens in a professional and efficient manner. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish a rapport with patients and their families in order to provide compassionate care.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform venipunctures and collect specimens from patients in a timely and efficient manner.
  2. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and establish a rapport with patients and their families in order to provide compassionate care.
  3. Ensure all patient information is accurately documented in accordance with hospital protocols.
  4. Prepare specimens for laboratory testing and transport them to the appropriate departments.
  5. Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to hospital safety procedures and regulations.
  6. Follow all relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in performing phlebotomy services.
  7. Collaborate with healthcare members to ensure patient comfort and satisfaction.
  8. Monitor inventory of supplies and equipment and order new items as needed.
  9. Stay up-to-date with changes in healthcare regulations and industry best practices.
