Job Description

The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is looking for a motivated and passionate Respiratory Therapist Intern to join our team. In this role, you will be providing direct care to pediatric patients in a fast-paced environment. You will have the opportunity to observe and learn from experienced respiratory therapists and help manage the respiratory care needs of our young patients.The ideal candidate will have an Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy and experience working with pediatric patients. You must be organized, detail-oriented and have excellent communication skills. Above all, you must be compassionate and empathetic with a strong desire to make a positive difference in the lives of our young patients and their families.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide direct care to pediatric patients in a fast-paced environment.
  2. Observe and learn from experienced respiratory therapists.
  3. Help manage the respiratory care needs of our young patients.
  4. Ensure that all patient care is being carried out in accordance with established protocols and standards.
  5. Maintain patient records and document all patient care activities.
  6. Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure patient care is seamless and effective.
  7. Demonstrate a compassionate and empathetic attitude towards patients and their families.
  8. Monitor and adjust ventilator settings and other respiratory care equipment as needed.
  9. Educate patients and families on proper respiratory care and techniques.
  10. Ensure a safe and healthy environment for all patients and staff.
