Job Description

Welcome to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, where our mission is to provide the highest quality care to our young patients. We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathology Clinical Fellow to join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of children. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse caseload of pediatric patients and collaborate with a team of experienced professionals. We are looking for someone who is driven, compassionate, and eager to learn and grow in their career. If you have a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology and are eligible for ASHA certification, we encourage you to apply and become a part of our CHOP family.

  1. Provide high-quality and compassionate speech-language pathology services to pediatric patients in accordance with CHOP's mission and values.
  2. Work with a diverse caseload of pediatric patients, including those with a variety of communication and swallowing disorders.
  3. Conduct thorough evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans for each patient.
  4. Collaborate with a team of experienced professionals, including physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and physical therapists, to provide comprehensive care for patients.
  5. Continuously monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  6. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  7. Educate and involve parents and caregivers in the treatment process and provide them with resources and strategies to support their child's communication and swallowing needs.
  8. Stay up-to-date on the latest research and advancements in the field of speech-language pathology and incorporate evidence-based practices into treatment.
  9. Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and other interdisciplinary activities to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
  10. Actively participate in professional development opportunities, including continuing education and supervision, to enhance skills and knowledge.
  11. Adhere to all CHOP policies, procedures, and standards of practice.
  12. Serve as a role model for professionalism, integrity, and compassion in the workplace.
  13. Foster a positive and welcoming environment for patients, families, and colleagues.
  14. Actively contribute to the growth and success of the speech-language pathology department at CHOP.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Speech-Language Pathology From An Accredited Program.

  • Certification From The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (Asha).

  • Completion Of A Clinical Fellowship Year (Cfy) And Eligibility For State Licensure.

  • Experience Working With Pediatric Populations, Preferably In A Hospital Or Medical Setting.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With A Multidisciplinary Team And Effectively Communicate With Children And Their Families.
