Surgical Supply and Processing Technician

The Surgical Supply and Processing Technician at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is an integral role to the success of the hospital's Surgical Services. This position requires a highly organized individual who is detail-oriented and has excellent customer service skills. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience in a healthcare setting, with experience in supply chain, inventory control, and/or sterile processing preferred. This role is critical to the mission of the hospital and requires a person who is passionate about providing the highest level of care and service to our patients and their families.

Responsibilities:

1. Maintain control of supplies, equipment, and instruments used in the operating room.
2. Stock and restock supplies, instruments, and equipment in the operating room.
3. Monitor inventory levels and order supplies and equipment as needed.
4. Process and sterilize surgical instruments and supplies.
5. Assemble surgical trays in accordance with specific procedures.
6. Maintain accurate records of inventory, instrument tracking, and sterilization.
7. Ensure all instruments and equipment are correctly stored and remain in good condition.
8. Utilize hospital computer systems to track instrumentation and supply usage.
9. Assist with the daily maintenance of the surgical environment.
10. Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families.
