Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Surgical Technologist to join our team at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a crucial role in assisting our surgeons during procedures and ensuring the safety and comfort of our young patients.   1. Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical equipment and instruments.
  2. Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, holding retractors, and anticipating their needs.
  3. Maintain a sterile environment by following proper infection control protocols.
  4. Monitor and document patient vital signs during surgery.
  5. Communicate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare team members to ensure efficient and safe patient care.
  6. Prepare and maintain surgical supplies and equipment.
  7. Anticipate potential complications and assist with troubleshooting during procedures.
  8. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, as well as national and state regulations.
  9. Continuously update knowledge and skills through ongoing education and training.
  10. Provide emotional support to patients and their families during procedures.
  11. Assist with patient positioning and transport before and after surgery.
  12. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes.
  13. Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy at all times.
  14. Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure seamless continuity of care.
  15. Remain calm and composed in high-stress situations.
  16. Participate in on-call rotations and work flexible hours as needed.
  17. Adhere to strict safety standards to protect patients, staff, and self from potential hazards.
  18. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all procedures and patient care.
  19. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  20. Act as a role model and mentor for other surgical team members.

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (Cst) Credential

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In Pediatric Surgical Settings
