- Develop and execute strategic plans for pharmaceutical contracting to ensure the best value for customers while managing costs.
- Negotiate contracts with pharmaceutical companies to obtain competitive pricing and favorable terms.
- Analyze market trends and industry data to inform contract negotiations and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including finance, legal, and sales to ensure alignment of contracting strategies with overall business goals.
- Build and maintain relationships with pharmaceutical companies to foster effective communication and negotiation.
- Stay up-to-date on industry regulations, trends, and best practices to inform and improve contracting strategies.
- Manage and maintain contract databases, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all contract information.
- Monitor and track contract performance and identify areas for improvement or renegotiation.
- Develop and maintain strong knowledge of Cigna's products and services to effectively negotiate contracts that meet customer needs.
- Communicate contract changes and updates to relevant stakeholders, ensuring understanding and compliance.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement innovative solutions for improving the health and well-being of customers.
- Represent Cigna in external meetings and negotiations with pharmaceutical companies, maintaining a professional and positive image.
- Continuously evaluate and improve processes and procedures related to pharmaceutical contracting to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Train and mentor junior team members to develop their negotiation and strategic planning skills.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to Cigna's mission and values, promoting a positive and inclusive work culture.
Bachelor's Degree In Business, Finance, Or Related Field
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Pharmaceutical Industry
Strong Understanding Of Healthcare And Insurance Industry
Negotiation Skills And Experience With Contract Management
Knowledge Of Regulatory And Compliance Requirements Related To Pharmaceutical Contracts
