In this role, you will be responsible for performing various accounting operations and reconciliations in support of the City's overall financial objectives.The ideal candidate for this position should have a minimum of two years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping, and the ability to accurately enter financial data into the accounting system. A working knowledge of financial reporting and the ability to provide assistance to auditors is also required. Responsibilities: • Perform various accounting operations and reconciliations in support of the City's overall financial objectives • Accurately enter financial data into the accounting system • Provide assistance to auditors • Prepare and analyze financial reports • Work independently and prioritize multiple tasks • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records • Research and resolve discrepancies in financial data • Ensure compliance with city, state, and federal regulations • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable • Maintain accounts receivable and accounts payable ledgers • Reconcile accounts and prepare bank deposits • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports
