Job Description

We are looking for an organized, customer-oriented Library Associate to join the team at the City of Burbank. This position requires excellent customer service skills, a passion for helping people, and the ability to work well in a team environment. The successful candidate should have knowledge of library operations, experience working with the public, and be comfortable using computers and other technology. If you have a positive attitude and enjoy connecting with people to help them find the information they need, we would love to have you join our team!

Responsibilities of a Library Associate:

  1. Provide exceptional customer service by assisting patrons with locating library materials and answering their inquiries.
  2. Maintain a clean and organized library environment.
  3. Assist patrons with using computers and other technology, as needed.
  4. Assist with library operations, such as cataloging materials, shelving books, and updating databases.
  5. Monitor the library for potential security issues.
  6. Train and supervise library volunteers.
  7. Develop and implement library programs and events.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.
