
Animal Care and Control Officer
The City of St. Louis is looking for an experienced and motivated Animal Care and Control Officer to join our Animal Care and Control team. Our ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to animal welfare and be passionate about promoting responsible pet ownership. The successful candidate will also be knowledgeable of relevant laws and regulations, have excellent customer service and communication skills, and be able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.The Animal Care and Control Officer will be responsible for the enforcement of animal control laws and codes and the humane care and control of animals. This includes responding to calls regarding animal related complaints, investigating animal cruelty cases, and providing humane animal care in the field and at the shelter.Qualifications include a minimum of two years’ experience in animal care and control, previous law enforcement experience, a valid driver’s license, strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, and excellent customer service and communication skills. Certification as an Animal Control Officer is also required. A successful background check and drug screen will also be required.
Responsibilities:
- Enforce animal care and control laws and codes.
