- Represent the City of St. Louis in a variety of legal matters, including but not limited to litigation cases.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to provide sound legal advice and counsel to city officials.
- Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, and contracts.
- Advocate for the city's interests in court proceedings and negotiations.
- Collaborate with other members of the legal team to develop strategies and provide support on complex legal issues.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of city ordinances, state and federal laws, and regulations relevant to the city's operations.
- Keep abreast of changes in the legal landscape and advise city officials on potential impacts.
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders.
- Attend city council meetings and provide legal advice and guidance on proposed policies and ordinances.
- Conduct trainings for city employees on legal matters and compliance.
- Manage a caseload and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Uphold ethical standards and maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
- Represent the city at community events and engage with residents to address legal concerns.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance legal knowledge and skills.
- Maintain accurate and organized records and reports.
Juris Doctor (Jd) Degree From An Accredited Law School.
Active License To Practice Law In The State Of Missouri.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Civil Litigation, Preferably In A Municipal Or Government Setting.
Extensive Knowledge Of Federal, State, And Local Laws And Regulations.
Strong Communication And Negotiation Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Represent The City In Court Proceedings And Mediations.
