- Conduct criminal prosecutions for municipal violations in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Review and analyze evidence, statutes, and case law to determine appropriate legal actions.
- Prepare and present cases in court, including conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, and examining witnesses.
- Communicate with law enforcement agencies, witnesses, and victims to gather information and build strong cases.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals to strategize and develop effective legal approaches.
- Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in municipal laws and regulations that may impact cases.
- Provide legal advice and guidance to city officials and law enforcement officers.
- Attend court hearings and trials, and negotiate plea agreements when necessary.
- Uphold ethical and professional standards in all aspects of job duties.
- Foster positive relationships with community members and stakeholders.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
- Work closely with the community to educate and inform about municipal laws and regulations.
- Represent the city in legal proceedings and negotiations.
- Contribute to the overall success and effectiveness of the municipal prosecution division.
Juris Doctor (J.d.) Degree From An Accredited Law School.
Active Membership In Good Standing With The Missouri Bar Association.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Municipal Prosecution Or Similar Legal Field.
Strong Knowledge And Understanding Of State And Local Laws, Ordinances, And Regulations.
Excellent Communication And Negotiation Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Represent The City Of St. Louis In Court And Other Legal Proceedings.
