Job Description

The City of St. Louis is seeking a highly experienced, motivated, and innovative Web Development Specialist to join our IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing the City’s web presence. The ideal candidate should have a passion for web development and experience with coding languages, such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. We are looking for someone who is creative, organized, and dedicated to growing and refining our web presence.The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Web Development, Computer Science, or a related field and at least two years of experience in web development. They should also have a strong understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other coding languages, as well as the ability to work with content management systems. The ability to work independently and collaboratively on multiple projects is essential. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with tight deadlines and have excellent problem-solving and communication skills, as well as a knowledge of the latest web development trends and technologies.If you are passionate about web development and have the necessary skills and qualifications, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, maintain, and enhance the City’s web presence.
  2. Create and maintain webpages using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  3. Work with content management systems.
  4. Stay up to date with the latest web development trends and technologies.
  5. Develop web-based applications, such as portals, databases, and websites.
  6. Troubleshoot and debug web development issues.
  7. Collaborate with other IT team members to ensure successful web projects.
  8. Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  9. Provide technical support and advice to internal and external customers.
  10. Ensure webpages and applications are secure and adhere to industry standards.
