  1. Develop, plan, and implement a variety of recreational activities and programs for individuals of all ages.
  2. Create engaging and innovative activities that promote physical, social, and emotional well-being.
  3. Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.
  4. Supervise and lead a team of staff and volunteers to assist with program implementation.
  5. Communicate effectively with participants, parents, and community members to promote the programs and address any concerns or questions.
  6. Maintain accurate records and documentation of program attendance, evaluations, and other necessary paperwork.
  7. Collaborate with other departments and community organizations to expand and enhance recreational opportunities for residents.
  8. Continuously evaluate and improve programs to meet the needs and interests of the community.
  9. Adhere to all city and department policies and procedures.
  10. Attend training and professional development opportunities to stay current in the field of recreation.
  11. Serve as a positive role model for participants by displaying professionalism, enthusiasm, and a commitment to providing exceptional service.
  12. Assist in the set-up, clean-up, and maintenance of program facilities and equipment.
  13. Act as a liaison between program participants and their families, providing updates and addressing any concerns.
  14. Promote a positive and welcoming atmosphere for all participants, encouraging inclusivity and diversity.
  15. Uphold the mission and values of the City of Stockton and the Recreation Department.

Job Qualifications
  • A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Leadership Role, Preferably In A Recreational Or Community Setting.

  • A Bachelor's Degree In Recreation Management, Leisure Studies, Or A Related Field.

  • Strong Interpersonal And Communication Skills To Effectively Interact With Diverse Populations.

  • Knowledge Of Recreational Activities, Sports Programs, And Special Events Planning.

  • Cpr And First Aid Certification, Or Willingness To Obtain Within 30 Days Of Hire.
