Job Description

At Duke University Health System's Transfer Center, we're looking for a Clinical Nurse to join our team and help us provide world-class patient care. This unique role offers the chance to work directly with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and efficient transfer of patients between facilities. We are looking for an experienced professional who can provide critical clinical judgement to evaluate and coordinate patient transfers, and effectively collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a safe and successful transfer.The ideal candidate for this position should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university, and be licensed and currently registered to practice as a nurse in North Carolina. We are looking for a detail-oriented nurse with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a strong commitment to patient safety and quality care. You must also be comfortable with using a computer and other electronic systems to access and update patient records. Above all, we seek a compassionate and professional nurse who is dedicated to providing excellent patient care and creating a positive environment for our patients and families.

Responsibilities:

  1. Evaluate and coordinate patient transfers between facilities.
  2. Provide critical clinical judgement to ensure safe and successful patient transfers.
  3. Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals.
  4. Maintain patient records using electronic systems and computers.

5.Greet and assist patients and families with their transfer process.

  2. Create a positive environment for patients and families.
  3. Adhere to all laws and regulations related to patient transfers.
  4. Maintain current licensure and registration to practice as a nurse in North Carolina.
