
Clinical Technician - Inpatient Phlebotomy
Our Duke University Health System is seeking an experienced Clinical Technician - Inpatient Phlebotomy to join our team. This position requires a highly organized professional with a passion for delivering quality healthcare to our patients. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability to multi-task and prioritize, and the capability to collaborate effectively with a diverse group of healthcare professionals.The successful candidate will be responsible for providing phlebotomy services to patients in a safe, effective, and organized manner. This individual will also be responsible for patient identification, specimen collection, and specimen labeling and processing. The Clinical Technician - Inpatient Phlebotomy must be able to maintain a professional and friendly demeanor at all times while providing excellent patient care.To be considered for this role, applicants must possess a minimum of one year of experience in a phlebotomy role. Experience in a hospital or health care setting is preferred but not required. Additionally, applicants must have a valid certification as a Phlebotomy Technician or a Medical Assistant with Phlebotomy Certification. A strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and terminology is also required. Finally, the successful candidate must have excellent organizational and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
• Provide phlebotomy services to patients in a safe, effective, and organized manner • Ensure that patient identification, specimen collection, and specimen labeling and processing are completed accurately and efficiently • Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor at all times while providing excellent patient care • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures • Maintain a thorough understanding of laboratory procedures and terminology • Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and laboratory staff • Monitor and document patient care activities • Collaborate with members of the healthcare team to ensure quality patient care • Maintain a clean and organized work area
High School Diploma Or Equivalent
