- Timely delivery of laboratory specimens and supplies between Duke University Health System facilities and external clients.
- Follow strict protocols and safety measures when handling and transporting specimens.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and ensure proper documentation is completed.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate delivery schedules and address any issues or concerns.
- Ensure the proper handling and storage of specimens to maintain their integrity and prevent any potential contamination.
- Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to the transportation of medical materials.
- Proactively identify and report any potential issues or delays in delivery to the appropriate parties.

- Represent Duke University Health System in a professional and courteous manner at all times when interacting with external clients.

High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Level Of Education Is Required To Become A Courier At Duke University Health System. This Ensures That The Candidate Has Basic Literacy And Numeracy Skills.
Valid Driver's License: A Courier Will Be Responsible For Transporting Sensitive Laboratory Samples And Specimens, Which Requires A Valid Driver's License And A Good Driving Record.
Medical Courier Experience: Previous Experience As A Medical Courier, Preferably In A Clinical Laboratory Setting, Is Highly Desirable. This Shows That The Candidate Is Familiar With Handling And Transporting Medical Samples In A Timely And Efficient Manner.
Knowledge Of Hipaa And Laboratory Regulations: As A Courier At Duke University Health System, It Is Important To Have A Good Understanding Of The Health Insurance Portability And Accountability Act (Hipaa) And Other Laboratory Regulations. This Ensures That The Confidentiality And Integrity Of The Samples Are Maintained During Transport.
