- Develop and oversee the strategic direction and goals of the Living Donor Kidney Transplant Program at Duke University Health System.
- Lead and manage a team of transplant surgeons, physicians, nurses, and support staff to ensure the highest quality of care for patients.
- Collaborate with other departments and medical professionals to develop and implement policies and procedures for the program.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards related to kidney transplantation.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and implement evidence-based practices to enhance patient outcomes.
- Develop and manage the program's budget, including resource allocation and financial planning.

- Represent the program in meetings, conferences, and other events to promote awareness and education about living donor kidney transplantation.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all aspects of the job.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer or other senior leadership.
Strong Understanding Of Living Donor Kidney Transplant Procedures And Protocols: Candidates For This Position Should Have Extensive Knowledge And Experience In The Field Of Living Donor Kidney Transplants, Including Pre-Transplant Evaluation, Surgical Procedures, Post-Operative Care, And Donor Advocacy.
Clinical Expertise In Transplant Surgery: The Director Should Possess Significant Experience As A Transplant Surgeon, With A Demonstrated Track Record Of Successful Surgeries And Outcomes. This Includes Proficiency In Laparoscopic Donor Nephrectomy And Other Minimally Invasive Techniques.
Leadership And Management Skills: As The Head Of The Living Donor Kidney Transplant Program, The Director Must Have Strong Leadership Qualities And The Ability To Effectively Manage A Team Of Healthcare Professionals. This Includes Setting Program Goals, Developing And Implementing Policies And Procedures, And Ensuring Compliance With Regulatory Standards.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Director Will Be Responsible For Building Relationships With Donors, Recipients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Providers.
