In this role, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and success of neurosurgical procedures by monitoring the integrity of the nervous system in real-time. Your expertise and attention to detail will be essential in identifying and communicating any changes in the patient's neurophysiological status to the surgical team.   • Perform intraoperative neuromonitoring during neurosurgical procedures to ensure the safety and success of the surgery.
  • Monitor and interpret real-time neurophysiological data to identify any changes in the patient's nervous system.
  • Communicate any changes in the patient's neurophysiological status to the surgical team in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to develop appropriate interventions in response to any changes in neurophysiological status.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot monitoring equipment to ensure accurate and reliable data.
  • Document all monitoring activities and observations accurately and thoroughly.
  • Stay up-to-date with current advancements and best practices in intraoperative neuromonitoring.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a sterile environment during procedures.
  • Provide support and assistance to other members of the surgical team as needed.
  • Uphold the values and mission of Duke University Health System and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Neuroscience, Physiology, Or Biomedical Engineering.

  • Certification As An Intraoperative Neuromonitoring Technologist (Cnim) From The American Board Of Registration Of Electroencephalographic And Evoked Potential Technologists (Abret).

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In Intraoperative Neuromonitoring In A Hospital Or Academic Medical Center Setting.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Neuroanatomy, Physiology, And Electrophysiology.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Multidisciplinary Teams In A High-Pressure Surgical Environment.
