
Psychologist - Bariatric Surgery
The Duke University Health System is seeking a compassionate and experienced Psychologist - Bariatric Surgery to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing psychological evaluation and counseling services to patients before and after bariatric surgery, as well as participating in multidisciplinary care teams. We are looking for a candidate who has a doctoral degree in Psychology from an APA-accredited program, is committed to providing evidence-based care, and has at least two years of post-doctoral experience in the treatment of bariatric surgery patients. Responsibilities:
- Provide psychological evaluation and counseling services to patients before and after bariatric surgery.
- Participate in multidisciplinary care teams to ensure evidence-based care.
- Maintain a current understanding of bariatric surgery and its associated mental health considerations.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Work collaboratively with medical staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
- Provide ongoing education and support to patients and their families.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Develop and present relevant educational materials to staff and other healthcare professionals.
Doctoral Degree In Psychology
Licensed Or License-Eligible In North Carolina
Experience Working With The Bariatric Population
Understanding Of Evidence-Based Psychological Interventions
Experience Providing Psychological Assessments And Interventions In An Outpatient Setting
Ability To Collaborate With Multidisciplinary Teams
Experience With Assessment And Treatment Of Medical And Psychological Conditions
