  1. Provide exceptional care to patients with complex pulmonary conditions.
  2. Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of patients to determine appropriate treatment plans.
  3. Perform procedures such as bronchoscopy, thoracentesis, and intubation as needed.
  4. Interpret diagnostic tests and imaging results to aid in diagnosing and treating patients.
  5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans for patients.
  6. Stay up-to-date on advancements and changes in the field of pulmonary critical care.
  7. Educate patients and their families about their conditions and treatment options.
  8. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues regarding treatment plans and progress.
  9. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
  10. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations.
  11. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research projects.
  12. Serve as a mentor and resource to other healthcare professionals, including residents and fellows.
  13. Actively participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities.

Job Qualifications
  • Board Certification In Pulmonary Disease And Critical Care Medicine: The Ideal Candidate Should Be Board Certified In Both Pulmonary Disease And Critical Care Medicine By The American Board Of Internal Medicine (Abim).

  • Extensive Experience In Pulmonary Critical Care: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Managing Critically Ill Patients With Complex Pulmonary Conditions In An Academic Setting.

  • Strong Academic Background: Candidates Should Have A Demonstrated Track Record Of Excellence In Academic Medicine, Including Publications In Peer-Reviewed Journals And Participation In Research Projects Related To Pulmonary Critical Care.

  • Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills: The Candidate Should Possess Exceptional Communication Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Interdisciplinary Teams, Patients, And Their Families. They Should Also Have A Proven Ability To Work Well Under Pressure In A Fast-Paced Environment.

  • Commitment To Teaching And Mentorship: As A Major Academic Medical Center, Duke University Health System Places A Strong Emphasis On Education And Mentorship.
