- Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum for the Radiology Residency Program in accordance with the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) standards.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to residents, ensuring their professional and personal growth and development.
- Conduct regular evaluations of residents’ performance and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their skills and knowledge.
- Work closely with faculty members and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality education and training for residents.
- Collaborate with other program directors and departments to create interdisciplinary learning opportunities for residents.
- Oversee the recruitment and selection process for new residents, ensuring a diverse and talented group of individuals.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with affiliated institutions and organizations to enhance the residency program.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advancements and changes in the field of radiology to ensure the curriculum remains relevant and effective.
- Participate in the evaluation and accreditation process of the residency program.
- Ensure compliance with all ACGME, state, and federal regulations and guidelines.
- Promote a culture of professionalism, patient-centered care, and continuous learning within the residency program.
- Lead and participate in research projects related to radiology education and contribute to the advancement of medical knowledge.
- Collaborate with the program coordinator to ensure smooth operations of the residency program, including scheduling, evaluations, and administrative tasks.
- Maintain regular communication with residents, faculty, and other stakeholders to address any concerns and provide updates on the residency program.
- Continuously seek opportunities to enhance the residency program and identify areas for improvement.
Board Certification In Radiology: The Ideal Candidate For The Radiology Residency Program Director Position At Duke University Health System Should Possess Current Board Certification In Radiology From The American Board Of Radiology (Abr).
Extensive Clinical Experience: A Strong Candidate Should Have Significant Experience As A Practicing Radiologist, With A Thorough Understanding Of The Latest Technologies And Techniques In The Field.
Leadership And Teaching Skills: The Program Director Will Be Responsible For Overseeing And Guiding The Education And Training Of Residents, So Strong Leadership And Teaching Skills Are A Must. Previous Experience As A Program Director, Assistant Program Director, Or Other Leadership Roles In A Radiology Residency Program Is Preferred.
Research And Scholarly Activity: Duke University Health System Places A Strong Emphasis On Research And Scholarly Activity, And The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Track Record Of Academic Productivity In Radiology, Including Publications And Presentations At National Conferences.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Program Director Will Work Closely With Residents, Faculty, And Other Staff Members, So Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential.
