Job Description

At Duke University Health System, we are looking for a highly motivated and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our General Medicine and Dialysis team. The ideal candidate will be an experienced nurse with a commitment to providing quality patient care and clinical excellence. As a valued member of our team, the Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients with general medical or dialysis-related conditions. The successful candidate must possess a valid nursing license in the state of North Carolina, as well as a minimum of two years of experience in a medical, dialysis, or intensive care unit. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a healthcare team, are essential. Responsibilities:

  1. Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with general medical or dialysis-related conditions.
  2. Monitor and assess patient health and vital signs.
  3. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
  4. Educate patients and families on general healthcare, medications, and treatments.
  5. Assist in the development and implementation of patient care plans.
  6. Document patient progress and care in medical charts.
  7. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
  8. Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and families.
  9. Ensure compliance with all applicable nursing standards and regulations.
  10. Participate in team meetings and professional development activities.
