
Safety Technician - Fire & Life Safety Division
The Duke University Health System is looking for an experienced and motivated Safety Technician - Fire & Life Safety Division to join our dynamic team. This position will be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the Health System's fire and life safety programs. The Safety Technician - Fire & Life Safety Division will be responsible for conducting inspections, tests, and maintenance on life safety systems and equipment, as well as providing education and training to staff and students. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, a strong understanding of building and fire codes, and a commitment to providing a safe environment for our patients and staff. We are looking for an individual who is motivated, organized, and has an eye for detail. The following qualifications are required for consideration:
Responsibilities of the Safety Technician - Fire & Life Safety Division:
- Inspect, test, and maintain life safety systems and equipment in accordance with building and fire codes.
- Provide training and education to staff and students on fire and life safety systems.
- Develop procedures for fire safety drills and inspections.
- Investigate and document fire safety incidents.
- Monitor building fire protection systems and equipment.
- Develop and implement safety and emergency protocols.
- Create and maintain records of fire and life safety systems inspections and maintenance.
- Assist in the development and implementation of fire safety plans.
- Monitor fire alarms, sprinkler systems, and other safety equipment.
- Respond to emergency situations as needed.
High School Diploma Or Ged
Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills
Ability To Work Independently
Five Years Of Experience In A Fire/Life Safety Role
Knowledge Of Fire And Life Safety Codes
Knowledge Of Fire Protection Systems And Their Components
Knowledge Of Nfpa And Other Applicable Codes
Ability To Read And Interpret Blueprints And Schematics
