
Hospital Outpatient Coder
We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Hospital Outpatient Coder to join our team at Emory Healthcare. We are a leading healthcare organization that provides quality, comprehensive care to our patients and families. This position requires a professional with a passion for coding and a thorough understanding of the ICD-10 and CPT coding systems. If you have excellent communication skills, can work both independently and in a team environment, and are dedicated to ensuring accuracy and compliance, this may be the right job for you.The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience as a Hospital Outpatient Coder or a related role, as well as an RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification. In addition, we are looking for someone who is comfortable using electronic medical records and is familiar with coding software and other technology. Responsibilities:
- Utilize ICD-10 and CPT coding systems to accurately code patient medical records.
- Work independently and in a team environment to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Use electronic medical records and coding software to record and organize patient information.
- Monitor and track coding guidelines and regulations to ensure they are up-to-date.
- Adhere to HIPAA guidelines to protect patient information.
- Provide quality coding support to other departments within Emory Healthcare.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail when coding.
- Assist with audits and other coding related projects.
- Prepare and generate reports related to coding activities.
- Utilize coding software to analyze patient records.
