
Hospital Outpatient Coder
Emory Healthcare is looking for an experienced and motivated Hospital Outpatient Coder to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a comprehensive knowledge of medical coding standards and possess the ability to interpret and apply coding guidelines. If you have a passion for accuracy and precision, excellent communication skills, and the desire to help improve the overall quality of patient care, then we want to hear from you!To be successful in this role, you should possess a minimum of two years of experience coding in an outpatient setting and be a certified coder with the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC). You should also have a working knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines. The ability to work independently and collaboratively, as well as strong organizational skills, are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines to accurately code patient records in an outpatient setting
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations and coding guidelines
- Review and update medical coding standards as needed
- Provide guidance and assistance to other coders when needed
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all patient coding
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with physicians and other healthcare professionals
- Participate in coding audits and provide feedback and recommendations to improve coding accuracy
- Assist in the training and development of new coders
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure coding accuracy and efficient workflows
- Utilize the latest coding technologies for optimal accuracy and efficiency
