
Medical Assistant, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Medical Assistant to join our Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery team at Emory Healthcare. - Assist plastic surgeons with patient procedures, including preparing patients for surgery and providing post-operative care instructions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records, including documenting patient information, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, surgeries, and follow-up visits.
- Assist with patient intake by obtaining vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints.
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms, ensuring they are clean, stocked, and organized.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Manage incoming calls and inquiries, triaging urgent matters to the appropriate team member.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and procedures, such as blood draws and specimen collections.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by the physician.
- Assist with inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving patient care and practice efficiency.
- Stay current on industry developments and advancements in plastic and reconstructive surgery.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service and ensure a positive patient experience.
- Support other team members and perform additional duties as needed.
Certified Medical Assistant (Cma) Credential From A Recognized Institution.
Previous Experience Working In A Plastic And Reconstructive Surgery Setting.
Strong Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Procedures Related To Plastic And Reconstructive Surgery.
Proficient In Electronic Medical Records (Emr) Systems And Other Computer Skills.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Assist Patients And Work With A Multidisciplinary Team Of Healthcare Professionals.
