As a Patient Account Representative, you will be a key contributor to our mission by ensuring the accuracy of patient accounts and billing. We are looking for a team-oriented professional with a passion for excellent customer service.To be successful in this role, you must have a minimum of two years of experience in medical billing or collections, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and a demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively. Additionally, you must have a thorough knowledge of medical coding, insurance verification, and third-party reimbursement. Responsibilities:

  1. Create and maintain accurate patient accounts in accordance with Emory Healthcare policy.
  2. Monitor patient accounts for discrepancies and take appropriate action to resolve issues.
  3. Process medical billing and collect payments from patients and third-party payers.
  4. Verify insurance coverage and submit claims in a timely manner.
  5. Generate patient statements and handle customer inquiries.
  6. Maintain detailed records of all financial transactions and update relevant databases.
  7. Collaborate closely with other departments to ensure accuracy of patient accounts.
  8. Remain current on industry trends and updates to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  9. Provide excellent customer service and cultivate a positive relationship with patients.
  10. Assist with other administrative tasks as needed.
