
Behavioral Health Counselor - Primary Care
Exeter Hospital is looking for an experienced, compassionate Behavioral Health Counselor - Primary Care to join our team. The ideal candidate understands the unique needs of patients and families and will have a passion for providing the highest quality of care. This role requires the ability to provide counseling services in a patient-centered setting that is responsive to the individual needs of our diverse patient population.The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, or a related field and be licensed in the state of New Hampshire as a mental health professional. In addition, the candidate must have a minimum of three years of clinical experience in a health care setting, preferably in working with primary care patients. The candidate must also possess the ability to exercise independent judgement and demonstrate strong interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.We are looking for a talented professional with a commitment to providing excellent patient care and an understanding of the importance of patient advocacy. Responsibilities:
- Provide counseling services to primary care patients in a patient-centered setting
- Exercise independent judgement and demonstrate strong interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ensure patient advocacy standards are met
- Maintain patient confidentiality
- Provide education and resources to patients and their families
- Document patient progress
- Participate in continuing education activities
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care
- Adhere to professional and ethical standards of practice
- Maintain knowledge of current trends and best practices in behavioral health counseling and primary care.
Master's Degree In Counseling
Psychology
Or Related Field
Licensed Or License-Eligible In New Hampshire
Experience Providing Individual And Group Counseling
Knowledge Of Evidence-Based Practices In The Treatment Of Mental Health And Substance Use Disorders
Knowledge Of Community Resources And Referrals For Appropriate Services
