If so, Exeter Hospital is looking for a talented professional like you to join our team and help us deliver the highest quality of patient care.As a Certified Coder at Exeter Hospital, you will be responsible for accurately coding patient information, managing patient billing processes, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. We are looking for an individual who is a skilled problem-solver and who takes initiative to ensure accuracy and efficiency in all aspects of the job.To be considered for this role, you must have a Certification as a Coder (CCS, CPC, or equivalent) and at least three years of experience coding in a healthcare setting. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology is preferred. You should also have a strong understanding of medical coding principles and be able to use electronic medical records systems.If you are an organized, detail-oriented professional who is looking to join a passionate team of healthcare professionals, then we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  1. Accurately code patient information based on medical records.
  2. Manage patient billing processes and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
  3. Provide solutions to coding issues and ensure accuracy and efficiency in all aspects of the job.
  4. Utilize electronic medical records systems to input and retrieve data.
  5. Maintain current knowledge of medical coding principles, medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
  6. Resolve coding disputes and discrepancies.
  7. Communicate with other healthcare professionals to ensure accuracy in coding.
  8. Ensure patient records are kept up to date and in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  9. Participate in professional development activities to increase coding knowledge and skills.
  10. Assist with quality assurance programs to ensure coding accuracy.
