- Develop and implement backup and recovery policies and procedures to ensure the security and availability of client data.
- Monitor and maintain backup systems, including NetBackup and Rubrik, to ensure optimal performance and functionality.
- Conduct regular backups and perform regular tests to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with the backup systems, including scripting errors and system failures.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices in backup and recovery to continuously improve and optimize systems.
- Collaborate with other IT teams and departments to ensure smooth integration and functionality of backup systems.
- Train and educate team members on backup and recovery processes and procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation of backup system configurations and procedures.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing to ensure business continuity.
- Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders to provide updates on backup and recovery processes and address any concerns or issues.
Proficiency In Netbackup: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Netbackup And Its Various Features, Such As Deduplication, Snapshot Management, And Replication. They Should Also Be Able To Troubleshoot And Resolve Any Issues That May Arise.
Experience With Rubrik: Fis Uses Rubrik As One Of Its Backup Solutions, So The Candidate Should Have Hands-On Experience With This Platform. They Should Be Able To Configure, Manage, And Monitor Rubrik Backups And Perform Data Recovery When Necessary.
Scripting Skills: A Backup Administrator At Fis Must Be Proficient In Scripting Languages Such As Bash, Powershell, And Python. They Should Be Able To Write Scripts To Automate Backup Processes, Create Custom Reports, And Perform Other Tasks As Needed.
Knowledge Of Backup Best Practices: The Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Backup And Recovery Best Practices, Including Data Retention, Disaster Recovery, And Data Redundancy. They Should Also Be Familiar With Industry Standards And Regulations Related To Data Backup And Security.
