
Infection Preventionist
The Infection Preventionist at Franciscan Health is a critical role for the safety and well-being of our patients and staff. We are looking for a dedicated professional with strong organizational and communication skills to join our team. This position is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of infection prevention and control activities that are consistent with evidence-based practice. The Infection Preventionist must have a comprehensive understanding of infection prevention and control standards and regulations, as well as the ability to assess, recommend, and implement strategies and practices that help protect the health and safety of our patients and staff.To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related field and have at least two (2) years of experience in infection prevention and control. The Infection Preventionist must be able to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be able to take initiative and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate infection prevention and control activities that are consistent with evidence-based practice.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of strategies, protocols, and processes that are designed to reduce the risk of infection.
- Analyze data and develop reports to assess infection prevention and control activities.
- Track and report infection rates and other relevant data.
- Develop and implement infection prevention and control policies and procedures.
- Educate staff on infection prevention and control practices.
- Respond to inquiries and provide guidance on infection prevention and control matters.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of infection prevention and control regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure best practices are implemented.
- Monitor compliance with infection prevention and control regulations and standards.
Knowledge Of Relevant Laws And Regulations
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing
Master's Degree In Public Health Or A Related Field
Certification In Infection Prevention And Control (Cic)
At Least Years Of Experience In The Infection Control/Infection Prevention Field
Knowledge Of Infection Prevention And Control Principles
Ability To Interpret And Analyze Data
