- Provide high-quality care to plastic surgery patients under the supervision of our renowned plastic surgeons.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and document all pertinent information accurately.
- Assist in surgical procedures, including pre-operative preparations, intra-operative support, and post-operative care.
- Educate patients on procedures, risks, and post-operative care instructions.
- Collaborate with plastic surgeons to develop and implement treatment plans for patients.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by plastic surgeons.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards of care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in continuous education and training to stay current on advancements and best practices in plastic surgery.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families throughout the plastic surgery process.
- Assist in managing patient flow and scheduling appointments.

Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field: A Physician Assistant In Plastic Surgery At Franciscan Health Must Possess A Bachelor's Degree In A Field Such As Biology, Chemistry, Or Health Sciences. This Educational Background Provides A Strong Foundation For The Medical Knowledge And Skills Needed In Plastic Surgery.
Completion Of An Accredited Physician Assistant Program: In Addition To A Bachelor's Degree, Candidates Must Have Completed An Accredited Physician Assistant Program. This Program Provides Specialized Education And Training In Areas Such As Anatomy, Pharmacology, And Patient Care.
Certification By The National Commission On Certification Of Physician Assistants (Nccpa): The Nccpa Certifies Physician Assistants Who Meet Their Rigorous Standards For Knowledge And Clinical Skills. This Certification Is Required For Employment At Franciscan Health As A Physician Assistant In Plastic Surgery.
Experience In Plastic Surgery: Candidates Should Have Previous Experience Working In Plastic Surgery, Either In A Clinical Or Surgical Setting. This Experience Demonstrates A Strong Understanding Of Plastic Surgery Procedures And Techniques.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Member Of The Healthcare Team, A Physician Assistant In Plastic Surgery Must Possess Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Surgeons, Patients, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
