Job Description

Are you an experienced Database Administrator looking to take your career to the next level? H-E-B is seeking a Lead Database Administrator who can help us maintain and improve our database systems. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical database expertise and ensuring optimal database performance. You will also be responsible for leading the database team and ensuring uptime, scalability, and security of our databases. To be successful in this role, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Information Technology. You must also have at least 5 years of experience in a Database Administrator role, preferably in a retail environment. In addition, experience with Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, or similar platforms is essential.If you are looking to use your database expertise to make a positive impact, then this is the role for you!

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide technical database expertise and ensure optimal database performance.
  2. Lead the database team and ensure uptime, scalability, and security of our databases.
  3. Troubleshoot and resolve database issues.
  4. Monitor database performance and fine-tune as needed.
  5. Develop processes and procedures to optimize database performance.
  6. Develop and maintain database backups and recovery plans.
  7. Ensure compliance with security protocols and standards.
  8. Research and recommend emerging database technologies.
  9. Train and mentor other database administrators.
  10. Design, implement, and maintain database schemas.
