1. Develop and implement strategic plans for purchasing, merchandising, and inventory management of non-perishable items across all H-E-B stores.
2. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and competition to ensure H-E-B remains a leader in the non-perishables market.
3. Manage and mentor a team of non-perishables buyers, ensuring their success through training, development, and performance evaluations.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Operations, and Finance, to drive sales and achieve company goals.
5. Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors to negotiate competitive pricing and terms for non-perishable products.
6. Monitor and analyze sales data and inventory levels to make informed decisions on product assortment, pricing, and promotions.
7. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as federal and state regulations, in all non-perishables operations.
8. Manage and control budgets for non-perishables, including forecasting and monitoring expenses.
9. Oversee the implementation of new products and initiatives, ensuring smooth execution and alignment with company standards.
10. Work closely with store managers and staff to ensure proper product placement, stock levels, and visual merchandising for non-perishables.
11. Drive a culture of exceptional customer service and continuously seek ways to improve the customer experience in non-perishables departments.
12. Act as a brand ambassador for H-E-B, representing our values and promoting our mission to serve Texas and provide the best products and services to our customers.
