  1. Perform phlebotomy procedures on patients in various settings, including hospitals, clinics, and outreach locations.
  2. Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a sterile environment during phlebotomy procedures.
  3. Establish and maintain a positive and professional relationship with patients, providing exceptional customer service and addressing any concerns or questions.
  4. Accurately label and process collected specimens, ensuring proper handling and transport to the laboratory.
  5. Maintain thorough and accurate records of all phlebotomy procedures and patient information.
  6. Collaborate with healthcare providers and laboratory staff to ensure proper testing and timely results.
  7. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with phlebotomy techniques, safety protocols, and healthcare regulations.
  8. Assist with maintaining inventory and ordering necessary supplies for phlebotomy procedures.
  9. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or discrepancies with collected specimens or patient information.
  10. Participate in quality assurance activities and adhere to all quality and safety standards.
  11. Act as a brand ambassador for the Henry Ford Health System, promoting our mission and values.
  12. Continuously seek opportunities to improve patient care and department efficiency.
  13. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
  14. Provide support and assistance to other members of the laboratory services team as needed.
  15. Flexibility to work a variety of shifts and locations as required.

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For A Lab Service Representative Outreach (Phlebotomist) Position At Henry Ford Health System Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That The Candidate Has The Basic Knowledge And Skills Required To Perform The Job Duties.

  • Phlebotomy Certification: Candidates Must Have A Valid Phlebotomy Certification From A Recognized Institution. This Certification Ensures That The Candidate Has Received The Necessary Training And Has The Skills To Perform Blood Draws And Other Specimen Collections Accurately And Safely.

  • Previous Experience: While Not Always Required, Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting Or As A Phlebotomist Is Highly Preferred For A Lab Service Representative Outreach Position. This Experience Shows That The Candidate Has A Good Understanding Of Laboratory Procedures And Protocols.

  • Strong Communication Skills: As A Lab Service Representative Outreach, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Communicating With Patients, Healthcare Providers, And Laboratory Staff. Therefore, Excellent Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal, Are Essential For This Role.
