
Obstetrical Technician

- Assist in the delivery of compassionate and high-quality care to expectant mothers and their families.
- Provide support to obstetricians and other healthcare professionals during labor and delivery.
- Prepare and maintain delivery rooms, ensuring they are clean and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
- Monitor and record vital signs of patients, including blood pressure, temperature, and heart rate.
- Assist with patient positioning and comfort measures during labor and delivery.
- Perform basic medical procedures, such as administering medications and starting IVs.
- Monitor and document fetal heart rate and contractions during labor.
- Assist with newborn care, including weighing, measuring, and bathing.
- Educate patients and their families on postpartum care and newborn care.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to stay updated on best practices and advancements in maternal healthcare.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor while providing emotional support to patients and their families.
- Uphold the values and mission of Henry Ford Health System in all interactions with patients, colleagues, and the community.
Certification Or Associate's Degree In Obstetrical Technology Or Related Field.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Labor And Delivery Setting.
Knowledge Of Obstetrics Equipment And Procedures, Including Fetal Monitoring And Delivery Instruments.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Families, And Healthcare Team Members.
Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment, While Maintaining Attention To Detail And Following Strict Protocols.
