- Accurately and safely prepare and dispense medications for patients receiving infusion therapy.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare team members to ensure proper medication dosing and administration.
- Maintain inventory of medications and supplies and assist with ordering and restocking as needed.
- Adhere to all pharmacy policies and procedures, including proper handling and storage of medications.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients by answering questions and addressing concerns related to their medication therapy.
- Properly document all medication dispensing and patient information in electronic medical records.
- Monitor patient responses to medication therapy and report any adverse reactions or concerns to pharmacists.
- Keep work area clean and organized to ensure a safe and efficient workflow.
- Comply with all state and federal regulations regarding medication dispensing and patient privacy.
- Attend and actively participate in departmental meetings and trainings.
- Continuously seek opportunities for professional growth and development.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality when interacting with patients and healthcare team members.
- Assist with other pharmacy duties and tasks as needed.
Certification: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Hold A Valid Certification As A Pharmacy Technician From An Accredited Program, Such As The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (Ptcb).
Experience: A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In An Infusion Advance Drug Therapy Setting Is Preferred For This Role, Demonstrating A Thorough Understanding Of Medication Compounding And Sterile Techniques.
Knowledge Of Drug Therapy: The Candidate Should Have A Strong Knowledge Of Various Drug Therapies, Including Chemotherapy And Biologic Agents, And Be Able To Accurately Interpret And Enter Orders Into The Pharmacy System.
Attention To Detail: As A Pharmacy Technician Working With High-Risk Medications, Attention To Detail And Accuracy Is Critical To Ensure Patient Safety. The Candidate Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Being Detail-Oriented And Able To Follow Established Protocols And Procedures.
Team Player: The Pharmacy Technician Will Work Closely With Pharmacists, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals In A Fast-Paced Environment. The Ability To Work Collaboratively As Part Of A Team Is Essential For Success In This Role.
