Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated MRI Technologist to join the world-class team at HOAG. As a key member of the Imaging Services Department, the MRI Technologist will be responsible for conducting Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scans and providing excellent patient care. The ideal candidate is an energetic, organized, and patient-focused individual with a passion for providing exceptional healthcare services.To be successful in this role, the MRI Technologist must possess the following qualifications: a current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in MRI, a valid California State Radiologic Technologist certification, and at least two years of experience in MRI scanning. The MRI Technologist should also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and other healthcare providers.

Responsibilities:

  1. Operate MRI equipment and follow established protocols to ensure accurate and safe imaging procedures.
  2. Prepare patients for MRI scans, explain the scanning process, and answer any questions they may have.
  3. Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the MRI scan.
  4. Monitor patient status and adjust parameters of the scan as needed.
  5. Follow safety precautions to prevent radiation exposure and other risks associated with MRI scans.
  6. Perform post-scan analysis of images and make adjustments as necessary.
  7. Maintain accurate patient records and document imaging results.
  8. Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and perform preventative maintenance as needed.
  9. Participate in staff meetings and continuing education classes to stay up-to-date on best practices.
  10. Follow policies and procedures established by HOAG and the Imaging Services Department.
