In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the operational risk control function for our Global Service Center (GSC) division, ensuring the identification, assessment, and mitigation of operational risks.   1. Develop and implement operational risk control policies and procedures for the GSC division, in line with HSBC's global risk management framework.
  2. Lead a team of risk management professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure the effective identification, assessment, and mitigation of operational risks.
  3. Conduct regular risk assessments and monitor key risk indicators to identify potential areas of concern and take appropriate actions to mitigate risks.
  4. Collaborate with various stakeholders, including senior management, business leaders, and other risk functions, to ensure a comprehensive understanding of operational risks and effective implementation of risk control measures.
  5. Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory requirements related to operational risk management, and ensure compliance with these standards.
  6. Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external audit teams, responding to audit findings and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  7. Prepare and present reports on operational risk management to senior management and relevant committees, highlighting key risks and control measures.
  8. Continuously monitor and identify any emerging operational risks and proactively implement measures to mitigate them.
  9. Conduct regular training and awareness programs for GSC employees to enhance their understanding of operational risk management and their role in risk control.
  10. Participate in various risk management forums and contribute to the development and enhancement of risk management processes across the organization.
  11. Drive a culture of risk awareness and accountability within the GSC division, promoting the importance of effective risk management to achieve business objectives.
  12. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the risk control team, promoting professional development and growth opportunities for team members.
  13. Support the implementation of new systems and technologies to improve operational risk management processes and efficiency.
  14. Act as a subject matter expert on operational risk management and provide guidance and support to other business functions as needed.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Experience In Risk Management: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 10 Years Of Experience In Risk Management, With A Strong Understanding Of Operational Risk Control And Related Processes.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Banking Industry Regulations: The Gsc Head Of Ops Risk Control Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Banking Industry Regulations And Compliance Requirements, Including Basel Iii, Dodd-Frank Act, And Other Relevant Laws And Regulations.

  • Proven Leadership Skills: The Candidate Should Have A Track Record Of Successfully Leading And Managing Teams, Preferably In A Global Setting. Strong Leadership Skills Are Necessary To Effectively Oversee The Risk Control Function For Hsbc's Global Service Centers.

  • Analytical And Strategic Thinking: As A Key Member Of The Operations Risk Management Team, The Gsc Head Of Ops Risk Control Must Possess Excellent Analytical And Strategic Thinking Skills To Identify Potential Risks And Develop Effective Risk Mitigation Strategies.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Candidate Should Have Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Various Stakeholders, Including Senior Management, Business Units, And External Regulators. This Role Requires The Ability To Communicate Complex Risk Concepts In A Clear And Concise Manner.
