Aircraft Mechanic

Ensures airworthiness of aircraft; services, repairs, and makes modifications to aircraft and engines on a scheduled basis and as conditions warrant; follows aircraft and engine manufacturers manuals and other sources for approved specification and technical data; uses a variety of hand, power and shop floor tools. Inspects and troubleshoots engines for deficiencies and malfunctions; tests engine operation using diagnostic equipment. Removes and disassembles aircraft and its components using hoist or other lifting devices; disassembles and inspects parts for serviceability and discrepancies; replaces unserviceable airframe and engine components. Starts and secures aircraft; performs aircraft cleaning and corrosion control.
