Labor Employment Counsel

Provide advice and counsel on employment law issues including hiring, discipline, terminations, pay and benefits. Counsels HR, local management and supervisors on handling employee relations matters, including employee counseling, discipline and benefits issues. Manage and support outside counsel in the prosecution or defense of employment related claims and litigation. Serve as legal liaison with KONE’s EPL carrier, including communicating regarding the status of claims and litigation and supporting KONE’s annual renewal EPL insurance renewal. Provide legal support to Human Resources in the investigation and preparation of responses to administrative claims. Represent the company in administrative proceedings with the EEOC or applicable state agencies, including the negotiation of resolution of claims. Review and provides input on policies, procedures and specific cases which are impacted by legislation. Assist employment law team in developing, implementing, improving and reviewing legal training.
