Medical Degree: A General Surgeon At Mainegeneral Health Must Possess A Doctor Of Medicine (Md) Or Doctor Of Osteopathic Medicine (Do) Degree From An Accredited Medical School.
Board Certification: Candidates Must Be Board Certified In General Surgery By The American Board Of Surgery (Abs) Or The American Osteopathic Board Of Surgery (Aobs).
State Medical License: All General Surgeons Must Hold A Valid And Unrestricted Medical License In The State Of Maine.
Surgical Experience: Candidates Must Have Completed A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Surgical Residency Training, With A Minimum Of 2 Years Dedicated To General Surgery.
Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For A General Surgeon At Mainegeneral Health, As They Will Be Working Closely With Patients, Colleagues, And Other Medical Staff.
