Job Description

Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in the Medical & Surgical Dermatology department.   1. Provide high-quality and compassionate patient care in the Medical & Surgical Dermatology department.
  2. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  3. Assist physicians with procedures and treatments.
  4. Monitor patients' condition and report any changes or concerns to the medical team.
  5. Educate patients on proper skincare and treatment plans.
  6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  7. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.
  8. Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and protocols.
  9. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
  10. Attend regular training and educational programs to stay updated on best practices and advancements in dermatology care.
  11. Maintain a professional demeanor and provide excellent customer service to patients and their families.
  12. Act as a liaison between patients, families, and medical staff.
  13. Follow infection control and safety protocols at all times.
  14. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
  15. Continuously strive to improve and provide the highest quality of care to patients.
  16. Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  17. Adhere to all legal and ethical standards.
  18. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist in developing and implementing new protocols and procedures.
  19. Stay compliant with all licensure and certification requirements.
  20. Represent Massachusetts General Hospital and the Medical & Surgical Dermatology department in a positive and professional manner at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Valid Lpn License: Candidates Must Possess A Current And Active Lpn License In The State Of Massachusetts, Ensuring They Have The Necessary Education And Training To Provide Medical And Surgical Dermatology Care.

  • Prior Experience In Dermatology: Applicants Should Have Previous Experience Working In A Medical Or Surgical Dermatology Setting, With Knowledge Of Common Skin Conditions, Treatments, And Procedures.

  • Strong Communication Skills: The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals Is Crucial In This Role. Lpns Must Be Able To Clearly And Compassionately Explain Treatment Plans And Provide Education On Skin Care.

  • Attention To Detail: As Dermatology Often Involves Performing Precise Procedures And Administering Medications, Lpns Must Have A Keen Eye For Detail To Ensure Accurate And Safe Care For Patients.
