  1. Accurately code medical procedures and diagnoses using current coding guidelines and regulations.
  2. Review and analyze medical records to identify and assign appropriate codes.
  3. Work with healthcare providers and other staff to clarify any documentation or coding discrepancies.
  4. Ensure all coding is completed in a timely manner to meet billing and reimbursement deadlines.
  5. Maintain knowledge of current coding updates and guidelines to ensure compliance.
  6. Conduct regular audits to monitor coding accuracy and identify areas for improvement.
  7. Collaborate with billing and reimbursement teams to resolve any coding-related issues.
  8. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations when handling medical records.
  9. Communicate effectively with healthcare providers to clarify coding questions and concerns.
  10. Participate in training and education sessions to stay up-to-date on coding best practices.
  11. Work with insurance companies and other third-party payers to resolve coding-related disputes.
  12. Ensure all coding is in accordance with relevant regulations and compliance standards.
  13. Maintain accurate and organized records of all coding activities.
  14. Assist in the development and implementation of coding policies and procedures.
  15. Continuously strive to improve coding processes and contribute to the overall success of the team.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Professional Coder (Cpc) Certification From The American Academy Of Professional Coders (Aapc).

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Medical Coding In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Icd-10, Cpt, And Hcpcs Coding Systems.

  • Proficient In Using Electronic Health Record (Ehr) Systems And Coding Software.

  • Strong Attention To Detail And Ability To Work Accurately And Efficiently In A Fast-Paced Environment.
