We at Massachusetts General Hospital are looking for a detail-oriented and passionate Medical Laboratory Technician to join our Blood Donor Center. The primary role of this position is to assist in the intake, processing and distribution of donated blood. The successful candidate for this role will have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of many through their work. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits package. To be considered for this role, you must have a minimum of two years of laboratory experience, a certification or qualification from an accredited institution in Medical Lab Technology, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:

  1. Perform laboratory tests and analyses of donated blood in accordance with established protocols.
  2. Monitor and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
  3. Prepare and store blood samples for testing and distribution.
  4. Maintain accurate patient records and laboratory testing results.
  5. Ensure that safety protocols are properly followed.
  6. Process and package blood donations for distribution.
  7. Provide excellent customer service to blood donors.
  8. Monitor and restock laboratory supplies and materials.
  9. Collaborate with other laboratory staff and healthcare professionals.
  10. Participate in continuing education and training activities.
