- Assess and prioritize patient needs, providing appropriate care and treatment based on established protocols and guidelines.
- Administer medication, perform invasive procedures, and operate medical equipment as needed to stabilize and treat patients.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care, including vital signs, treatments, and interventions.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to provide updates on patient status and collaborate on treatment plans.
- Stay up-to-date on current medical practices and procedures, attending trainings and maintaining relevant certifications.
- Utilize critical thinking skills to make quick and accurate decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment, following infection control and safety protocols.
- Assist in the transportation of patients to and from various hospital departments and facilities.
- Demonstrate compassion and empathy towards patients and their families, providing emotional support and comfort during times of crisis.
- Serve as a valuable member of the emergency response team, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide the best possible care for patients.
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations, to ensure patient safety and confidentiality.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient care.

Completion Of An Accredited Paramedic Training Program: Candidates For A Paramedic Health Technician Position At Massachusetts General Hospital Should Have Completed A Recognized Paramedic Training Program. This Ensures That They Have The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Provide Emergency Medical Care To Patients.
Active Paramedic Certification: Applicants Must Possess A Current And Active Certification As A Paramedic. This Demonstrates That They Have Met The Standards Set By The National Registry Of Emergency Medical Technicians (Nremt) And Have The Necessary Skills To Perform Their Duties.

They Should Also Be Familiar With Hospital Equipment And Procedures, As They May Be Required To Assist With Patient Transfers And Procedures.
